Event Details

Lend a helping hand and help impact a child's life today! We challenge you to help us assemble 10 prosthetic hands for kids in need across the country.  These hand pieces were all 3D printed on our Makerbot 2x and Lulzbot Taz 6 printers here at the Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Community Library for the e-NABLE Community.   eNABLE is "an amazing group of individuals from all over the world who are using their 3D printers to create free 3D printed hands and arms for those in need of upper limb assistive devices."

Our "Hand Challenge" participants will follow video tutorials step-by-step to build usable prosthetic hands for recipients in need. The completed hands will then be sent to a non-profit organization in South Carolina, who will then match children with their new hand.

Sign up individually and work in groups with friends or family to help turn 31 pieces of plastic into a usable prosthetic hand for others. Teens, this is a great opportunity to earn community service credit!
Children may participate in this program with an Adult present. Both the adult and child should register individually.
